The company's Financing and Insurance division provides a range of financial services including residential and commercial mortgage services and asset-based lending. The company's OnStar in-vehicle safety, security and convenience services has six million subscribers. The company operates in 56 countries, including the US, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Spain, the UK and Brazil, and has investments in Isuzu Motors and GM Daewoo. It had 2008 revenue of about $149 billion and has about 234,500 employees. As a result of the company's June 2009 bankruptcy filing, the former General Motors Corporation was renamed Motors Liquidation Company and its assets will be wound down in bankruptcy court. The old GM's viable assets were sold out of bankruptcy to form General Motors Company, which emerged from bankruptcy in July 2009 just 40 days after the original bankruptcy filing. The U.S. government holds a 60.8% stake in the the company. The new GM will have just four core brands: Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and GMAC.
